The Prikichi as it is called locally, is the only parrot native surviving in Aruba, Curaçao and La Tortuga Island. The Brown-throated Parakeet is mostly green. The lower body is light green and the upper body is a darker shade of green. They are also know by their beak's of black/grey and some blue wing feathers. This is the only parrot you will see on the island of Aruba. The birds can be found traveling in pairs or small groups. Food sources include fruit, flowers and plant seeds and breeding habitat is in termite nests. Look for them roosting in groups, particularly in the tops of trees.
