Most shops are in downtown Oranjestad. Shops are open until 6:00 pm. Most Oranjestad stores are closed on Sundays. Hotel shops are open. Cruise ships in port will make for an extremely crowded downtown. You can negotiate prices in some jewelry stores, but not most other places except perhaps the weekend flea market.
Shop before you leave home to know your prices. Some perfume can be cheaper as you are not paying US taxes. Beautiful embroidered tablecloths can be a good buy. For souvenirs, Dutch cheeses, like Gouda, & also Dutch chocolates can be purchased at the supermarket. |
